Jean Tebay is a resident of Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, and she receives Home Care services four times a week, for three hours each visit.
“The service I receive is excellent, beyond expectations!” she said. “I have severe arthritis which limits my physical activities. Then, in come my home care aides – they are experienced, on time, hardworking and watchful. They anticipate my needs. They do laundry and minor clean ups, get my mail and go shopping, either here on campus or at the grocery store. One of them even helps me decipher complicated legal documents.
“Both home care aides love my dog and are always ready to walk her – even in inclement weather. You name it, they’ll do it. Always with a smile.
With the assistance of Masonic Village Home Care, Jean is able to stay in her retirement living apartment longer.
“I can keep my ‘freedom’ longer and enjoy my dog longer,” she said.
She encourages others to utilize the service for the help it provides, as well as the opportunity for isolated residents to socialize and build a meaningful relationship.
“I look forward to Heather [in-home caregiver] coming. We have a good time while she attends to the list of ‘to dos’ I give her,” Jean said.
She also has praises for the convenience of requesting and scheduling services with office staff.
“Gwen Geesey [home care services coordinator] does a super job of fitting client’s needs to Home Care staff’s abilities,” Jean said. “And if you happen to have an aide that isn’t quite right for you? Tell Gwen. She’ll work hard to find the perfect fit.
“If you would your life be a little more pleasant with some extra help, call Home Care. They’re the best!”
